Astegon spawns at 22 points in the wild, and our breeding calculator returns 104 parent pairs for it.

Lv55 to Lv80 across 22 points

Our spawn summary puts wild Astegon between Lv55 and Lv80. For a rarity 9 Pal, Lv55 is an early floor, so you meet one before the endgame.

The 22 points split across the Palpagos side and the World Tree side, so either base works as a starting point. That count is not generous, though you can fold the search into a route you already run (what to catch at each level band). Alphas spawn too, and one alpha ends the hunt.

What the 104 pairs look like

Solving every pair returns 104 combinations that produce Astegon. Breeding power reads 490, and enough pairs average out near that number. Some Pals have 1 parent pair in the whole game, so 104 sits at the wide end.

The self pair works, so 1 species covers both parents. Once you own an Astegon, growing your count costs you nothing but cake.

Where the parents bottom out

Take the 12 easiest pairs. Some of them lean on a parent with no wild record of its own: Silvance and Ghangler Ignis, and Hartalis as well. Hartalis cannot come from its own single parent pair either, so pairs built on it never reach your first Astegon.

Keep the pairs where both parents spawn wild, then sort them by the higher parent level you wait on. Tetroise Primo at Lv60 with Splatterina at Lv52 leads, and Tetroise Primo sets that wait at Lv60. Next comes Celesdir at Lv54 with Azurmane at Lv63, which waits on Lv63. Jormuntide Ignis at Lv66 pairs with Lapure at Lv65, and Jormuntide Ignis takes its own breeding detour.

By the time you reach Elgrove Cryst at Lv75 and Roujay at Lv74, you are standing in Astegon’s own spawn band.

The 5 levels you lose

The pair at the top of that sort waits on Tetroise Primo at Lv60. Wild Astegon starts at Lv55. Breeding arrives 5 levels late.

So breeding buys you nothing here. You run eggs through the farm and get your Astegon after the wild would have handed you one. I catch it. Renjishi came out the same way on a smaller margin.

Breeding pays off on your second one. Catch one across those 22 points, then let the self pair do the rest (how breeding works, how breeding power picks the child).

Mining 7, Handiwork 3

Work suitability reads Mining 7 and Handiwork 3. Mining 7 belongs at the mining site and moves ore noticeably faster. Treat the Handiwork 3 as a bonus.

Size XL with food 7 cuts into that. A large slot and a big appetite for one mining job is a real cost, so weigh it against the Pals at the work suitability ceiling.

Nocturnal, but the clock does not matter

Our Paldeck data marks Astegon nocturnal. Our spawn summary still reads all 22 points as day or night.

Those two fields describe different things, and plenty of Pals split the same way. I went out at night the first time and wasted the trip.

Stats if you fight with it

HP 100, Attack 125, Defense 125. Paldeck No.158, rarity 9, with Dragon and Dark as its 2 elements.

Attack and Defense match, and the HP sits low. For rarity 9 that reads flat, so I would not swap a late-game party slot for it. The strongest Pals by raw stats has the order, and the strongest attacker per element covers where Dragon and Dark land.

Mining 7 is the reason to bother. Catch one in the Lv55 band early and you pay the least for it.
