Palworld Aquatic Construction Kit: five requirements dropped in v1.0.3

The Aquatic Construction Kit used to sit out of reach. Lv66 to unlock, 4 Ancient Technology Points to buy. By the time you got there your base layout had been settled for thirty levels.

v1.0.3, out August 12, 2026, moved five things at once.

Pocketpair published the level and the point cost. For the materials the notes only say they adjusted them, so we read the counts off paldb.cc, which has updated to v1.0.3. The “before” column is what our own data held as of July 15.

The material swap does more work than the level change. Coralum Ingot and High Quality Wooden Board both need production lines you only build late, which made the kit an endgame item regardless of what number sat next to it. Ingot and Wooden Board come off your first furnace.

Where the materials unlock

A Lv23 label means nothing if the recipe needs something you cannot make until Lv40. We pulled the three from our technology data.

All three land before Lv23, so nothing blocks you when you get there.

The Cement is what will slow you down. One Cement takes Stone 20, Bone 1 and Aquatic Pal Fluids 1, so 30 of them means 600 Stone. A Stone Pit covers the stone while you do other things. Aquatic Pal Fluids come off water Pals you have to go and hunt, so bank 30 of those first.

Where it sits in the ancient tree

There are 51 ancient technologies and they cost 182 points between them. Only six of the 51 ask for a single point, and the Aquatic Construction Kit joined that group.

It now costs less than either neighbour. Early ancient points usually go to the Egg Incubator at Lv10 and the Grappling Gun at Lv12, which we cover in early technology priorities. The kit is a reasonable third pick.

What you get

The item description keeps it short: a tool for building on water that lets you place foundations on the surface. Your foundation placement extends over water, and that is the whole feature.

The first tower fight against Zoe and Grizzbolt is built for Lv20, so Lv23 lands just past it, around when you go looking for a second base site. Now the water counts as a site. I want to put a third base out over the sea and see how it plays.

That said, water bases did not suddenly become optimal. You can place foundations, and nothing else about spawns or power routing changed to suit them. Treat this as permission to experiment early rather than a new best practice.
