Whalaska Ignis breeds from only 2 parent pairs, and the wild floor sits at Lv71

Whalaska Ignis starts at Lv71 in the wild. Two parent pairs breed it.
Wild band and 44 spawn points
Our spawn data puts Whalaska Ignis at Lv71 to Lv80, across 44 spawn points, all of them on the World Tree side. Comb the Palpagos Islands as long as you like and none will appear.
A floor of 71 makes this a late-game catch. Once you can travel to the World Tree, 44 points give you enough ground to cover without a long hunt, and alpha specimens spawn there too. Fold it into the lap we mapped in the World Tree field boss route.
Why only 2 parent pairs exist
Our breeding calculator solves every pair in the game, and 2 combinations return Whalaska Ignis. Its breeding power sits at 370, and few pairs average anywhere near that number. Pals with a wide entrance clear a hundred combinations, so this counts as narrow.
The 2 pairs are Chillet Ignis with Whalaska, and Whalaska Ignis with itself. The second one multiplies what you already hold, which leaves Chillet Ignis with Whalaska as the only way to produce your first.
Reaching Chillet Ignis and Whalaska
Chillet Ignis spawns from Lv40 in the wild, Whalaska from Lv42. Both sit in the Lv40 band, far under Whalaska Ignis itself. Catch those 2 first and you hold a Whalaska Ignis before you set foot on the World Tree.
We hunted Whalaska along the icy coast for a while before finding one. Our list of what spawns in each band is in catch candidates by level band, and the ranch and cake loop is in how breeding works.
Cooling 6 and Kindling 5
Cooling 6, Kindling 5. Cooling powers refrigeration, which keeps your food from spoiling, and a Cooling 6 Pal takes that worry off your base.
It carries both Ice and Fire, so it fills a kindling slot as well. Kindling stops at 5 though, which leaves it short of a smelting workhorse. The full ranking sits in work suitability rankings.
Combat stats
HP 105, Attack 120, Defense 110. Paldex No. 151, rarity 8. Attack runs ahead of the rest, and neither Defense nor HP drags. Since you catch it late anyway, dropping it straight into your party works.
Which route to take first
We catch Chillet Ignis and Whalaska first and run the eggs. They arrive in the Lv40 band, so the Paldex entry fills in while you climb toward the World Tree.
Already walking the World Tree? Hunt the wild one. Alphas spawn there, and you can bring one home the same trip.
